The music ministry at Holy Trinity brings to our worship services a wide diversity of musical styles, from chant to contemporary. Singing is an important mode of worship in the Bible, and so congregational song figures prominently in our worship as well. There are several musical groups that rehearse weekly to prepare for leading the congregation’s musical responses, and occasionally providing special musical numbers as well. Members who would like to participate in these groups can contact that group’s director for more information.

Holy Trinity Choir

This is a group of about 20 singers that provides weekly leadership on the congregational hymns and liturgical responses each Sunday. The choir also sings an anthem or introit every two or three weeks, drawn from a variety of style periods. They rehearse each Thursday, 7:00 to 8:30, as well as a half hour before each service. Members can choose which service they would like to attend.

Holy Trinity Octet

The octet is a smaller group of singers that leads in worship every three to four weeks, and occasionally will sing for longer musical programs. This group focuses on sacred music of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, as well as contemporary composers like Stephen Paulus and Arvo Pärt. They rehearse each Wednesday, 7:15 to 8:30, as well as a half hour before each service in which they sing.

Holy Trinity Worship Team

The worship team provides leadership on the contemporary Christian songs, and occasionally brings a special number to our services. The worship team rehearses each Wednesday, 6:00 to 7:15, as well as at 8:00 prior to the first service. Members participate at both services on their assigned Sundays.

Holy Trinity Kids Choir

Worship is central at Holy Trinity, and what better way to worship God than by learning how to worship Him in song? Trinity Kids Choir is open to children in 1st-12th grade, and meets on Thursdays from 4:30-6:00. Kids who play instruments have an opportunity to play together at each rehearsal. This children’s choir sings in Sunday worship about six times per year.

Instrumentalists

There are many opportunities for instrumentalists to share their gifts in worship. There is no fixed rehearsal time, but players generally meet for about an hour on the Saturday prior to a Sunday on which they will play.
