GOD's Story & The E100 CHALLENGE
During 2016-2017, our entire community will be reading through the story of the Bible - God's Story! During the year our weekly sermons, community group discussions, personal and family devotions will all be designed to lead us through God's Story.
As part of this exciting journey we're challenging everyone to accept the Essential 100 Challenge. The E100 Challenge is an easy to use Bible reading plan built around 100 carefully selected short Bible passages — 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament.
Accept the E100 Challenge and you'll walk away with the big picture of God's Word and in the process develop a daily Bible reading habit that will change your life!
HOW IT WORKS
The E100 readings are usually one to two chapters in length and can easily be read in 10 minutes or less. These readings have been organized into 20 sets of five readings each. We'll start together on September 18th with Genesis 1&2 and wrap things up at the end of February.
The resources below are designed to help you stay on track and complete the challenge. You can purchase them in lobby on Sundays starting September 4th. Credit/debit (including chip cards), cash, or check accepted.
GOD'S STORY DURING ADVENT & CHRISTMAS
During Advent & Christmas, we'll be "slowing down" as we come to the heart of God's Story - the person of Jesus. Over the next four weeks we will be using alternative readings to help us consider how Jesus really is the point and at the center of God's story and ours.
Daily Planner & Punch Card
Everyone taking the challenge should get one of these these free, 8-panel fold-out cards. It is your road map to the study and it includes an outline of the readings, an action plan, and a punch-out progress tracker.
If you’re new to the Christian faith, investigating Christianity, or have never read the Bible on a regular basis before then this is a great place to start. The guide includes short weekly overviews, simple prayers, and reflection and application questions. Use the Red Guide or the Grey Guide (not both).
If you want to get the most out of the E100 challenge and go a little deeper, this guide includes extended reflections and commentary as well as space for you to journal. Use the Red Guide or the Gray Guide (not both).
Family Guide (children 7-12)
The Big Bible Challenge is a family devotional guide that inlcudes 100 readings arranged in 20 sections or “challenges” of 5 readings (usually 10-15 verses) each. One of the five passages is explored in detail and the other four in outline. Each section includes a Bible text, questions to help explore the Bible passage, prayer ideas, things to make or do and full color artwork. It’s a great tool to help parents and children work through the challenge together!
This edition of the guide is designed to help students engage with the Bible, individually and in group settings. It includes 100-mini studies based on the E100 reading plan as well as 20 sets of group discussion questions.
